Burlington Campus Restructured to meet Customer Needs, 2014

Based on 1st quarter learning’s from new business, the Operations team implemented a short and long term manufacturing strategy to eliminate non value added processes and meet customer needs on the Burlington campus. The current state required significant outside storage and overhead to execute manufacturing orders in a very competitive cost environment.

The new plan addressed the need to accelerate the Energizer business to “steady state”, especially ahead of Hurricane/Holiday Battery Season and proactive preparation for Sun-care next spring. Additionally, the project secures a better manufacturing and distribution model for annual Elmer’s BTS and potential Elizabeth Arden growth.

The project was completed with our Faucet Road facility focused entirely on Manufacturing and our 1603 Anthony Road facility focused entirely on Distribution. We now have 15,000 pallet locations of storage for 20 operating lines and 2 Manufacturing Cells at Faucet that can multiple shifts as required. Our Distribution Center has pushback racking, staging lanes and 39 Dock Doors to service 30 to 50 trucks per day.

We expect to see increases in on-time delivery to our customers and more efficient execution of work orders to meet our business needs.
